Claims & process
What we buy and how a sale works
We review a wide range of claims in bankruptcy cases. If you are owed money by a company that has filed, there is a good chance we can make you an offer.
What we buy
Claims we review
Trade claims
General unsecured
Unpaid invoices owed to vendors, suppliers and service providers for goods or work delivered before the filing.
20-day administrative claims
11 U.S.C. § 503(b)(9)
The value of goods the debtor received in the 20 days before filing, which carry administrative priority.
Lease rejection claims
11 U.S.C. § 502(b)(6)
Damages owed to landlords and equipment lessors when the debtor rejects a lease in the case.
Contract and other claims
Case by case
Contract rejection damages, settlements and other allowed or filed claims. Tell us what you hold and we will take a look.
How it works
Selling a claim, step by step
Tell us about the claim
Send the debtor's name, the case number if you have it, the amount owed and a copy of your proof of claim or invoices.
We review it
We look at the claims register, the debtor's schedules and the state of the case to price the claim.
You receive an offer
We quote a price as a percentage of the claim amount. There is no cost to you and no obligation to accept.
Sign the assignment
If you accept, we sign a claim purchase agreement and we file the transfer notice with the bankruptcy court under Rule 3001(e).
Get paid
We pay the purchase price to you by check or wire transfer. Any future distributions from the estate on that claim then come to us.
